the weekend

life goes on after mizzou basketball i've figured out

i pretty much started my weekend on thursday night at barneys with kate and devs. Went all out for the mizzou game and happily celebrated the win with the random guy from creave coeur in the booth next to us, by starting MIZ-ZOU cheers all night.

friday was more basketball at barneys, just not as fun

saturday i woke up early to hike runyon canyon with claire and her friend teresa who was visiting from DC. It was straight up for most of the hike, but it was one of the best views of LA i have seen since I have been here. The trail is packed with people! Everybody hikes this trail and they bring their dogs, soooo many dogs

sunday was another roomies bday, pagie. We planned a picnic lunch at the getty museum and dessert at diddy riese.
That night, Claire, Teresa and I went and got a sunday drink at Chateau Marmont to enjoy teresa's last night in LA.

back to work today

I'm picking up my boss from her crusie tomorrow morning, her john mayer cruise

I told her if john needs a ride home i would be happy to drive him

LA toSTLbacktoLA

Last Thursday (3.12) I was able to go back to STL for a few days
1/2 of the trip was spent spending time being a bridesmaid in my friend Sarah's Wedding and
the other 1/2 was spent with my family and STL friends
It was a really great time to be home and I was sad that it felt so short. There just was not enough time to see everybody i wanted to see and do everything i wanted to do.
But with the time i had, i really enjoyed myself and was so happy to see all the people I was able to spend time with.
The few days at home spoiled me...really spoiled me.
i had my own room
basically my own bathroom
no traffic
a car to drive
and I didn't have to work for 6 days
It wasn't too hard to miss the TOMS/LA life at all.

Pics from the long weekend...

I returned back to LA late Tuesday night and had this waiting for me from some very sweet roomies....

This break to STL marked the official 1/2 way point of my time out here.
Does it feel like it's been short or long?
I don't really know
But I'm glad i have a bit more time out here to continue being a local LA person =)

The Korean Taco Truck

My new favorite LA craving...
http://kogibbq.com/

The only way to find out where the taco truck is going to be that day, is by visit this blog.
The location changes daily and I hear lines of people form way before the truck even gets there.

My first visit was last week when we (Kate, Ryan and I) tracked down the taco truck on Santa Monica's Campus before heading to the USC game.

Amazing tacos! Perfect in so many ways that you don't even need salsa, they are so packed with flavor.

You would think in LA the best tacos would not come from a Korean taco truck, but they do

If you ever come out here, it's for sure going to be on the "to do" list

What have i been up to?

Not much

Last week was another full week of work. The only non work activities during the week, that I took part in was using my lunch break to get my bridesmaid dress altered and going to a USC basketball game last thursday night.

To sum up the USC game = all hype
It made me appreciate every Mizzou basketball I have ever been to and made me even more disappointed that i'm missing out on one of their biggest seasons in years.
March Madness come quickly...

Over the weekend I stayed in both nights to take it easy/save money. During Saturday, after morning errands to Trader Joes and Target, roommate Claire and I rode bikes down to Venice Beach for the rest of the day.
The first time I came to LA when I was 12, I HATED Venice. I thought it was a freak show and I never wanted to return. Now it's one of my my favorite places in LA.

Sunday was spent at Disney's California Adventure . Because I can prove that I am a SoCal resident now, we were able to take part in the 2'fer deal Disney offers and return back to their 2nd park for Free. A day at Disney and only spending 20 bucks...pretty magical.

Now I have two more days of work to go and i'll be on my way back to Bird Land!
See you soon St Louis people.

Reason #1 March will be a VERY good month for TOMS...

I can finally start to blog about things at TOMS (well, not everything just yet)

At this moment Blake Mycoskie (founder of TOMS) is wearing these shoes at the WHITE HOUSE!!!

Blake has been chosen as one of top 25 entrepreneurs in America!
He has been asked to meet with President Obama today to discuss the Economy and how to develop solutions over lunch and an all day meeting.

This is a huge honor for blake and one of the many big steps for Toms this month.

More TOMS news to come...very soon

You are SO LA if...

you go to frozen yogurt/pinkberry's all the time...

you support many charities, wear a product to save somebody somewhere, go to fundraisers, etc...

everything you eat is organic and comes from trader joes or whole foods...

you sit in traffic everywhere you go; anytime of the day, any day of the week...

you have every apple accessory known to man...

you drive one of these...

you drink out of this...

you shop with these...

and you have no idea where to tell a girl from st louis, where a good sports bar is with DRAFT BEER anywhere in the city limits.

My quest continues to learn the true LA life style...
stay tuned

I'm on a boat

We were inspired by this video to go sailing for the day...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iUjx4_X1qA

Lucky for us our roommate Kate's uncle has a boat and she invited a few of us to come to San Diego for the weekend to go sailing.

Sailing on a sailboat = a great way to spend any California saturday.
Hopefully we can return again when the Padres start playing and do it all over again.

Another work week is about to start again. I worked almost 50hrs last week and I'm pretty sure the same thing is about to happen again this week.

The Spring Line of Shoes are up tomorrow on the website!!!
Don't you think it's about time you had a pair??
Just saying...
