I am spending the weekend at our family friends Susan's house = taking a vacation from the TOMS house
Last night she was out to dinner with a friend, so i was able to enjoy a whole house all to myself. Yep, no big friday LA night plans for this girl. My friday night plans were full of quietness, being alone and catching up on TV shows I am episodes behind
But Today was spent in
Montery Park/San Gabriel Valley
The majority of people residing in the San Gabriel Valley are Asian Americans. Many of the buildings are not in english and every where we went, we were the only two white people.
It was a day of many first things for me
My frist dim sum lunch
I can't even tell you what i ate, but the experience was quite interesting. The whole top floor of this department store was a very large restaurant. The men would refill your tea and bring you sauces, while the women pushed around carts full of hot food on little trays that you would pick out as they approached your table. The two of us together spent $15 on a feast of food.
My first Foot Massage Parlor

Foot Massage Parlors are all over this area of LA. We walked into a somewhat dark room with rows of barcaloungers. For $15 (yes, fifteen dollars) I was given a 30min full neck/back massage and a 30min foot massage, while enjoying
She's All That playing on the large wall of flat screens.
One full hour of massage for $15 bucks!! -- Best money I have spent this entire time in LA!!
I also experienced my first asian grocery store. This is the place to go if you want fish, chicken feet, noodles, odd veggies and my new favorite asian food, Bao. I would describe it as a dumpling filled with shredded BBQ meat = The asian version of beef on bun.

***
I missed every basketball game tonight, but i'm glad to see that State made it to the finals
If Mizzou can't win, my next team is the Spartans.
1. Because who doesn't like to say Izzo??!!
2. My mom and cousins all went there
and 3. nobody in either of my bracket pools has them winning, which means I would win both pools
